Cet article fait le point sur la contribution séminale au débat sur la courbe de Phillips rédigée par Samuelson et Solow en 1960. Cette dernière est habituellement considérée comme la première interprétation de la courbe de Phillips en termes d’arbitrage. L’article montre que si Samuelson et Solow expriment en effet ce point de vue, ils sont très sceptiques sur la stabilité à long terme de la courbe.
